Attention was called to the fact of us keeping up enquiries at Marrickville over the pumping engine. Will the City Engineer report if it is now necessary to keep these enquiries. (Note: City Engineer. Recd 13/7/87 A week or two since, the Government was asked when the Nepean water would be available for the general supply and the reply stated 6 months. It now appears that it will immediately take up its work within 3 weeks. The engine in question can therefore be at once moved up to Woollahra, its ultimate destination, where foundations are ready to receive it. It was retained at Marrickville lest the western suburbs should fall short of water through interruption to the flumes: JTJ;19/7/87. 30/7/87 Let this pump be removed to Woollahra at once: AJR. 5/8/87 O/W. The necessary funds for removing pumps etc. were voted on 11th Nov 86.
