Last Saturday, 2 Corporation Carters were discovered cutting turf from the Bye wash of the No 8 Dam, and stated they had been sent by Mr Seymour. They were requested to replace the turf, and only did so in part. Turfing is the mainstay of the Byewash in cases of heavy rain, life and property is in danger, request you replace the turfing as soon as possible. Notes: HJD: City Surveyor: RWR: Mr Seymour's report herewith: never gave instructions, nor required any sods, Gangers advise carters under their supervision confirm were not near the dam.
