On the left are posters along a corrugated iron fence and a row of buildings starting at number 127 occupied by Arthur Darby. Ellen Phillip's boarding house is at number 125 Flinders Street. There is a man in the upper storey window at number 123 Flinders Street which is occupied by Miss J Buffrey. There is a tram stop marker post on the footpath at the front of terrace houses. Further down the street is signage at number 107 1/2 (107a) for a grocer which is operated by Chung and Sing. On the opposite side of the street is The Palace Hotel run by James Steel located at 122 to 124 Flinders Street on the corner of Dowling Street which veers off to the far right. On the footpath outside of the hotel are two pedestrians. -- Occupants derived from Sands Sydney, Suburban and Country Commercial Directory, 1916.
