The building has a shingle roof, chimneys, two balconies, and an obscured street sign at upper left. There is a room to let sign in the window of Mrs Gaston at number 17 Short Street. Near the door of the house on the right at 15 Short Street, occupied by George Ross, there is a sign for a bootmaker and repairer.
