The terrace house on the right is 127 Flinders Street, occupied by Arthur Darby, and marks the end of Flinders Street. Beside this is Ellen Phillip's boarding house located at 125 Flinders Street. Two boys are on the footpath near posters adhered to corrugated iron fence advertising Evelyn Scotney and Leonard White, Stanley James and Royal Strollers at the Palace, comedic film Get Rich Quick Wallingford at the Criterion, and Grand Italian Opera. A woman is hanging washing on the line in the vacant lot while a woman can be seen next to a tree behind the fence nearby. Flinders Street was originally known as Botany Street until 1895. -- Occupants derived from Sands Sydney, Suburban and Country Commercial Directory, 1916
