A Wenck. He is laying down flagging at the corner of Palmer and William Streets, and he is 'interrupted' by his neighbour's drainpipe. He has given his neighbour notice but to no effect. There is a note by Edward Bell, the City Engineer which states that Mr Bradridge, the architect for a house a few doors above Mr Wenck's laid a four inch pipe along the footway to the corner of Palmer Street to drain a cellar. This was done about four years before Mr Wenck's house was built at the corner. The pipe is laid too near the surface to allow flagging. The pipe was not authorised and Bell thinks that Mr Wenck should be allowed to remove the pipe and a hole might be cut in the kerb above the proposed flagging to let the water off.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
