William Day, Western Lea, Pyrmont, and others. Asking for assistance to abate the nuisance near his residence. When the tide is out and the drainage runs over the beach, it causes a very bad smell. He asks that the rubbish of the northern end of the city be deposited there to reclaim the land. The Bridge Company will allow the carts to cross and return for one toll for three months, which is cheaper than travelling the long distance that they do at the present time. The householders in the neighbourhood are all his tenants and will not object. Appended is a report from R Seymour, the Inspector of Nuisances where he writes that carting the house rubbish of the western end of the City to this place would be shorter and more convenient than to Moore Park.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
