Asking that Sydney Council reconsider the conditions under which Redfern Council would be permitted to obtain a supply of water from the stand pipe in George Street, Redfern for the purposes of watering nearby metalled streets. Only an occasional and limited supply would be needed, and they want to avoid the expense of connecting a meter. He asks that they make a return of the number of casks used. The cask fixed upon the water cart belonging to Redfern Council contains about 120 gallons. The rate is two shillings sixpence per thousand gallons of water used.
