Unique IDA-00445194SeriesLetters Received from the Colonial Secretary, 1842-1859Date15th August 1857FormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionLetter from Colonial Secretary referring to the Application for Issue to the Municipal Council of a Grant of the Piece of Land, situate between Bridge and Bent Streets, formerly vested in the City as a Site for Erection of a Town Hall and advising that: 1) the Executive Council, after due consideration, are scarcely prepared to approve re-issue of a grant of the whole of the land in question but consider that Ample Space should be Appropriated out of it, as a site for erection of a Town Hall and other necessary buildings, and Reserved for such purposes; 2) before recommending the actual area, for issue of such a grant, the Executive Council Requires the Corporation to provide Plans and Elevations of the Buildings Proposed for erection, to give some idea of the space required.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
