Unique IDA-00445236SeriesLetters Received from the Colonial Secretary, 1842-1859Date30th April 1858FormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionLetter from Colonial Secretary on the subject of Payment by the Government for Work performed in Opening New Streets through Crown Lands in the City advising City Council that: 1) City Engineer should prepare Plans, Sections, Specifications and Estimates showing the Work Proposed and the Cost therof and, if approved by Government, the Sum required will be placed upon the Estimates for decision of the Legislature; 2) should Expenditure be Sanctioned, Colonial Treasurer will issue the amount required to City Authorities who must furnish Monthly Accounts to Auditor General and Quarterly Reports to Government together with Progress Plans shewing the work executed and the amount expended; 3) the amount appropriated shall be expended within the year for which it is voted, failing which it shall revert to Consolidated Revenue and will not be applicable to the purposes for which originally granted without a renewed sanction from the Legislature.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
