The building at the far left is Australia House which contained several businesses, many of which have signs visible including: Lispon Footwear (in the window), Herman Solomon hairdresser, Walter Pittar dentist, Bella Perman dancing studios, and Mrs Clarke costumiere. The Australian Picture Palace, which at this time was located at 195 to 197 Liverpool Street, is advertised on the side of the building. The building at 185 to 189 Liverpool Street on the corner of Commonwealth Street was the home of the Young Women's Christian Association is in the process of being demolished. Planks of wood are stacked vertically against the front of the building along with other building materials including doors, cornices and fireplace overmantels. On the right is a discarded relocation sign for YWCA and G L Cooper auction sale notice. Advertising for performances have been added to the sandstone fence posts at the footpath edge including The O'Brien Girl, Pacific, Foolish Wives. Liverpool Street sign is on upper right side of the building.
