The building at the far left is part of The New South Wales Fire Brigade headquarters with the address of 211 to 217 Castlereagh Street. Next to this is Samwar and Company Laundry is at number 209 Castlereagh Street. The whole frontage of number 207 Castlereagh Street is covered with advertising and posters for performances, including a sign directing people to Blue Streak Loan Office with B Fienberg located around the corner at 147 Bathurst Street. Advertisements include: Indian Root pills; Mortein insect destroyer with image of a dog being bitten on the tail by a mosquito; Orange Cup; Penfolds Wine; Clever Mary cleaner; Bosisto's Eucalyptus parrot brand destroys germs rapidly prevents influenza; Roffs; Shi-noleum polish; Lifebouy Soap kills germs; Lux wont shrink wool.

The posters advertising performances include: The man in dress clothes featuring Seymour Miles at Grand Opera House; Arthur Prince ventriloquist at Tivoli; Movie Ball at Palais Royal; Woman to Woman at Lyric Wintergarden; Town Topics at New Palace Theatre. There is also a poster for the sale of lots at Tennis Court Estate Bondi Beach.

On the corner of Castlereagh is a Grocery store at street level and Beutler and Company Piano Importers which has the street of address of 149 Bathurst Street. In the background is Speedwell Cycles at Bennett and Wood at 102 to 108 Bathurst Street. Above Bennett and Wood is a water tower. Albert House, built in 1911, is visible at 110 Bathurst Street. Two men are on the street outside of the laundry and a woman and man are near the grocery store.
